Safety

Details of the tides must be taken before going swimming or snorkel in the ocean. Carry all the safety accessories and take a look around the surroundings before relaxing on the sand. Beautiful and transparent jellyfish can be easily seen in the rainy season, but they are considered the most dangerous creatures of the reef waters. So it is always necessary to obey all the rules set by the authorities and watch out for the safety warnings before visiting any places on the reef to avoid marine threats attacks. Significant safety precautions and signboards are placed near the beaches, especially for the tourist, and it helps to make all the tours more safe and secure.

When to Travel

Great Barrier Reef is located in the southern hemisphere and comes under the tropical climate zone. It never experiences an extremely hot or cold climate all year round. In the summer season, the climate is warm and hot. The best time to visit the Great Barrier Reef is from May to October, perfect for beach activities. GBR experiences only two seasons, so generally, a monsoon starts from November to May after the summer season. In these months, around 75-90% rainfall is expected. Don’t forget to carry sunscreen before visiting GBR.

Tipping

Tipping is not compulsory in Australia, as service charges are usually included in the bills.
